Bar Harbor

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to take a break from DC and visit the Great State of Maine. October in New England in something everyone should experience. There's just nothing else like it. The scenery, lighthouses, wildlife and people don't disappoint. From the Iconic Bass Head Light Station to Gilley's Head of the Harbor, I was an amazing trip and begs me to go back again. Since the government was shut, there was only limited access to Acadia National Park but there was still plenty to do. Whale Watching tours (however unsuccessful) and early morning excursions to be one of the first people in the continental United States to see the sun all make Mount Desert Island a perfect place to be.
