When winter skies have just a hint of high clouds they seem to hold a gradient of color as the sun comes close to breaking the horizon. With just a few ducks splashing in the small patch of open water on the reflecting pool the warmer days have started to break up the ice. While watching the progress on the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft, we can only wait for the scaffolding to come down to fully reopen the memorial.
