Misty Winter Mornings

Its been some time since I made it out on a misty morning. These conditions have a way of shrinking the world, making the city and its spaces feel less vast. At the same time it begs you to look into the distance for the things you know should be there but cannot find. This morning was one where it kept wanting to rain, but the mist just held in the air. When the temperature and dew point finally separated, the rain let go, bringing the moisture out of the sky.

The quietness of these mornings is among its most special traits. The water in the air seems to help deaden the sound and focus you in on just you.
