Lake Como

Of all the stops we made on our honeymoon, Lake Como is perhaps the most iconic. The step mountains and lakeside side villas evoke a sense of timeless elegance.

We decided to eschew the usual spots of Como and the southern end of the lake for the fork and a small village called Bellagio. The smaller and quieter part of the lake suited the end of our trip well.

On the last day of our Honeymoon, we took the ferry over to the wonderful town of Varenna for an amazing lunch at Osteria Quatro Pass. The beauty of this area is stunning. The views north to the Swiss Alps. The lakeside walks. The incredible food. It is something you should visit at least once in your life.

One of the least planned parts of our time around the lake was a visit to a wonderful Vineyard situated up in the mountains. Called IndoVino, its something that isn’t supposed to exist. At over 900m of elevation, its supposed to be too high to grow grapes. The founder Mattia is an amazing host. Treating visitors to a tour of the small growing area, everything is hyper local. The wine and the food especially.
